Keep up, clear up!
The more you can do as you go along, the easier it will be once the meal is over.
Keep some hot water with washing up detergent in the sink.
As soon as you have finished with a knife or spoon in your prep, wash it and put it in the drainer.
Then you can reuse it, rather than being left with six knives and four spoons on top of your eating cutlery which all need cleaning later.
As soon as you have finished dishing up from a pan, either put it to soak in hot water and washing up detergent or put it straight in the dish washer if you have one.
Don’t leave it to cool and congeal, it will be more disgusting later.
Keep white vinegar and baking soda (or bicarbonate of soda) powder on hand for stubborn crusty stains.
